  • Welcome to Rachel Bayne Photography…

I have loved photography since I was at least in the 3rd grade and got my first camera for my birthday that year. I took that little 210 film camera everywhere I went and have been capturing the world around me ever since. I love being a photographer. From weddings to families to senior portraits... it's all so much fun! If you have a question, click on the Contact button above. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do. -Rachel Bayne

Misty and Justin… Bellingham engagement photography!

Misty and Justin are just awesome. They are cool and laid back and have a great style. They met while Justin was working at a downtown bellingham club called The Royal and Misty worked late night at the Pita Pit right across the street. When the bar closed, Justin would visit Misty and use his bouncer skills to kick out all the weirdos who were just crashing at the Pita Pit. They now live in Seattle but will move to Pullman, Washington, where Misty will be starting veterinary school at my alma mater Washington State University (Go Cougs!!!). Nothing like planning a wedding and moving across the state at roughly the same time. I can’t wait to see them at the July 29, 2011 wedding at Evergreen Gardens (just north of Bellingham, Washington) and talk about all the places they should eat and visit in the Palouse! At this very moment I could go for some almond chicken from New Garden and ice cream from Ferdinand’s!

Misty and Justin’s wedding is gonna be a blast! Come back in August to see their wedding update.

Rob and Misty…

Rob and Misty are awesome people and are one of my favorite couples to photograph! Long story short, Misty is from Whatcom County and Rob is from Pittsburgh but was living in Nashville when a buddy of his introduced him to Misty who was in town visiting. Less than a year later, here we were meeting at my favorite Starbucks and on our way to take their engagement photos in downtown Bellingham on a crazy beautiful day in the mid 60’s! (For those out of  Western Washington, we haven’t had a day over 70 degrees this entire calendar year… so mid 60’s and sunny is pretty much summer for us right now.) I think you’ll be able to tell just how much these two are into each other by the photos… I’m looking forward to July and can’t wait to meet Misty’s two daughters!

Orange is my favorite color…

Sunglasses and Starbucks… very PNW.This guy came running by so I kept shooting!

Bryan and Katie’s Bellingham engagement session

Katie and Bryan found me through their friends Ellie and Ryan whose wedding I photographed last summer at the Semiahmoo Resort. I hadn’t met them before the engagement shoot, but realized I know Bryan from a local business he works at. (there is an inside joke here!) There was a lot of nervous laughter in the beginning but after they warmed up we got some fun images. It was fun roaming downtown Bellingham with them… their September wedding is gonna be a blast!

Kristina and Jeff: October 10, 2010

Kristina and Jeff are one of my favorite couples… I had such a great time with them during their engagement shoot and at their wedding because they are just so goofy and fun! The ceremony and reception was held at the very beautiful Shilshole Bay Beach Club and catered by Apulent. Their food was some of the best I had all season! I love all of Kristina and Jeff’s details… the love bird cake toppers by RedLightStudio (located in Everett) were so adorable and decorated to match their gorgeous flowers, which were done by Brittany Flowers in Kirkland. I just adore Kristina and Jeff and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them! Thanks for the awesome day and for letting me photograph your beautiful wedding!

Jeff hides his eyes as he walks past the room where Kristina is getting ready…

First look…

Kristina is so goofy!

Kristina tied a locket to her bouquet that had a photo of her father and grandparents, in memoriam.

LOVE these cake toppers by RedLightStudio!

Kristina’s bridesmaids wipe their lipstick off her cheeks after kissing her…

Kristina’s brother was a “bridesman”…

Some time before the wedding, Kristina’s oldest brother Martin fell off a ladder and shattered his leg… and since he wasn’t able to leave his hospital bed, Kristina and Jeff “Skyped” him in and he was able to watch the ceremony. It was really fun for everyone to see him!

Officiant Tiffani Mondares-Riggs holds the laptop so Martin can watch Kristina walk down the aisle.

Married!

For favors, Kristina and Jeff made jars with ingredients to make cookies. I can tell you from first hand experience that they were delicious!

Kristina was prepared for the toasts…

I love that Kristina wore converse for the reception… and check out the “wedding girl” socks… cute!

Kristina and Jeff play with their new nieces!

“She’s a brick….. House…”

I’m not sure if Jeff’s brother and his girlfriend are playing football, or just doing a little dirty dancing…

“Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto…”

“Shout!”

“No paparazzi, please!”

Kristina and Jeff are off to deliver cake to her brother at the hospital…

Kristina is so goofy!

Stephanie and Rob are getting married…

Stephanie was referred to me by fellow teacher Kristina, who’s wedding I photographed on October 10, 2010. (photos coming soon!). My initial meeting with Stephanie and Rob was over some delicious pizza from The Rock Wood Fire Pizzas. We had a great time chatting and made tentative plans to do their engagement session on the University of Washington campus where they met as students. I am a graduate of Washington Sate University and this was my first trip on the UW campus that didn’t involve a sporting event. It was strange at first but I survived and we, including their dog Diesel, had a lot of fun during the shoot. The weather was great and Rob and Stephanie were so much fun… I’m looking forward to next July!

Nice move, Rob!

Sorry, ladies… Rob’s taken!
