Stephanie and Rob are getting married…

Stephanie was referred to me by fellow teacher Kristina, who’s wedding I photographed on October 10, 2010. (photos coming soon!). My initial meeting with Stephanie and Rob was over some delicious pizza from The Rock Wood Fire Pizzas. We had a great time chatting and made tentative plans to do their engagement session on the University of Washington campus where they met as students. I am a graduate of Washington Sate University and this was my first trip on the UW campus that didn’t involve a sporting event. It was strange at first but I survived and we, including their dog Diesel, had a lot of fun during the shoot. The weather was great and Rob and Stephanie were so much fun… I’m looking forward to next July!

Nice move, Rob!

Sorry, ladies… Rob’s taken!

Patrick and Suzie: September 19, 2010

After finally having a weekend off, I was back to work at Patrick and Suzie’s Bellingham wedding. When Patrick and I first started communicating about his wedding I knew this was going to be a fun one! Their wedding party was hilarious… I never needed to remind them to smile because they were laughing during just about every portrait. Patrick works at McCoy’s Firehouse Bar & Grill, located in Seattle’s Pioneer Square, which graciously did the catering for the reception. The food was amazing! For the first time I had my photo booth set up to print out photos for their guests… it was a huge hit and a lot of fun for me to see the reactions people had when they saw their photo booth strips!

Thanks to Patrick and Suzie for a fun evening… hopefully I’ll see you at a Seattle Sounders playoff game!

This photo really shows how funny Patrick, Suzie and their wedding party are…

Suzie’s maid of honor gave the best toast… she referenced an episode of “All in the Family” where Edith Bunker says a tearful “so long” to Louise Jefferson before she “moves on up” to the Eastside.

The ring bearer’s parents promised him a “Zsu Zsu Pet” if he smiled in all the photos… which of course meant that every time I looked at him he had the cutest cheesy grin!

[...] they are such a fun and sweet couple! They were referred to me by Sheila’s maid of honor Suzie (and husband Patrick!) whose wedding I photographed last September. I knew when Sheila and Erik said who they were [...]

Kate and Kyle: September 6, 2010

Kate and Kyle’s morning wedding was the last in my marathon of fourteen weddings in eleven weeks this summer! Their loving families and personal details really made this wedding special… oh, and did I mention the yummy breakfast pastries? Their wedding ceremony was held at Believer’s Fellowship in Gig Harbor where Kate’s Dad is the ministries director. He walked her down the aisle and then married Kyle to his daughter. After the ceremony, we all went to the Pagoda at Pt. Defiance in Tacoma for the breakfast reception. The weather was a little iffy during our early portraits but warmed up for some more portraits at the park. Thanks to Kate and Kyle for a wonderful wedding!

Kyle and his groomsmen each had different fun ties… my personal favorite is the one with cameras!

Kate’s nephew carries a T-Rex down the aisle to hold the rings instead of a pillow… very cool!

Kate is emotional as her dad walks her down the aisle…

I think this moment was as funny for Kate and Kyle as it was for me, but for different reasons… For me to get to where they were combining two trees together, I had to climb through a forest of trees on the stage… They’re laughing because combining the trees was more difficult then they had imagined!

Not only where these pastries delicious, I love how they were displayed…

Each table had jars with funny questions for the guests to answer and put in the guest book…

Kate and Kyle had wedding photos from their parents and grandparents displayed along with stories of their wedding day.

This is the T-Rex Kate’s nephew carried down the aisle with the rings…Kate’s thumbprint is on the inside of Kyle’s ring…I love this photo of Kate’s nephew… I realized during the family portraits that I went to high school with his dad. Small world! One of Kate’s niece drew this picture for them…Another of Kate’s nieces loves Kyle’s beard…. and by love, I mean she likes to rub her face against it!Kyle was surprised by the Oreo’s on the back window of his beloved Subaru…

Lindsay and Brian: September 5, 2010

Lindsay and Brian’s Guemes Island wedding could not have been in a more beautiful setting. The weather cooperated, the flowers by Stacie from Blush Custom Floral were gorgeous, the food by Avenue Catering was delicious, and the setting for both the ceremony and reception were beyond beautiful. Brian grew up on Guemes Island and family friends of his were gracious enough to let them hold their wedding day on their waterfront beach home.

It was really hard for me to tell who was related and who wasn’t because everyone seemed like family. There was a lot of love and laughter this day… and a LOT of crazy dancing! Some highlights included Lindsay’s dad’s toast and slideshow, Brian’s brother’s toast and slideshow, and Brian’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers singing the “Rose Song” to Lindsay toward the end of the night.

Congrats to Brian and Lindsay!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting…Lindsay had her bridesmaid bring Brian a note from her before their “first look.”Brian and Lindsay make their getaway in a golf cart to their reception site…Blair, one of Brian’s groomsmen… ended up in a bunch of my photos. What a fun guy he is!Lindsay’s dad and Brian’s brother each did a slideshow with their toast… Lindsay’s dad’s was very sweet… while Brian’s older brother’s was more of a roast… I was laughing so much I almost forgot I was there to do a job! Some of the video clips Brian’s brother showed of him were priceless! The cast of Jersey Shore has nothing on Brian and his island friends’ “total domination” fist in the air!Avenue Catering did a bunch of yummy mini desserts…This guy likes to dance… a lot…Brian’s mom hits the dance floor…I’m not sure what dance this is that Blair and Lindsay are doing, but they were having a good time!I went to the barn to photograph people inside, and when I came out Brian and Lindsay were dancing by themselves just outside the tent…Brian’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers sing the “Rose Song” to Lindsay…

If you like what you see, leave me a comment!

Liz and Scott: August 28, 2010

One thing I noticed when going through Liz and Scott’s is that laughter was everywhere! From the girls getting ready to the “Soul Train” dance line at the end of the night, everyone was happy and having a good time. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, big, and bright bridal room for the Liz and her bridesmaids to get ready at. I highly recommend staying the night and getting ready at The Villa Bed and Breakfast in Tacoma.

The ceremony, held just outside the Pagoda at Point Defiance Park, was short but sweet… I loved how Scott couldn’t repeat after the officiant! After the ceremony and family portraits it was on to the Pagoda for dinner and dancing. Let me tell you something, Liz and her girls know how to have a good time! There was no shortage of fun dancing moments for me to capture!

Thanks to Liz, Scott, the bridal party and Liz’s mom Cindy for treating me so well. Congrats and enjoy the photos!

I LOVE the green walls…

Liz’s mom and matron of honor help her into her dress as a bridesmaid sweeps up a wine glass that thankfully didn’t spill on Liz’s dress!Scott had a bit of an issue repeating what the officiant was saying…I always wonder how many wedding photos I end up in…Liz surprised Scott with sliders for dinner at the reception… he was so excited!Liz dances with her mom…Someone knows all the dance moves to a Brittany Spears song…:)I love a good “Soul Train” dance line… Liz and her bridesmaid do the “lawn-mower.”
