  • Welcome to Rachel Bayne Photography…

I have loved photography since I was at least in the 3rd grade and got my first camera for my birthday that year. I took that little 210 film camera everywhere I went and have been capturing the world around me ever since. I love being a photographer. From weddings to families to senior portraits... it's all so much fun! If you have a question, click on the Contact button above. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do. -Rachel Bayne

Youth Football @ Ferndale High School

Now that my nephew’s have graduated and are no longer playing football, I decided to go check out a couple games of youth tackle football at Ferndale High School on a very hot Saturday afternoon. The level these kids play is pretty incredible and for many of these kids this was their first game of tackle football. I can’t help but think that a lot of these kids will be competing with and against each other on this same field some day when they are in high school. After the games it was cute watching the parents take photos of their kids with sweaty heads of hair from wearing their helmet all game… and hearing the kids say “did you see when I did (insert awesome play here).”

In addition to weddings, I also photograph pretty much anything. Give me a call or email me if you’d like some family photos! rachel@baynephotography.com 360.739.3228

Angela and Gavin… Married July 9, 2011

Angela was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed a few years ago and contacted me last year to photograph her and Gavin’s wedding at The Bellwether in Bellingham, Wa. I hadn’t met Gavin before their wedding day but was pleasantly surprised at how adorable and fun he is! From yelling “I do” during the ceremony to picking her up and running her around, Gavin is a catch. I loved how they practically giggled every time they looked at each other… I can NOT wait until they have babies!

Enjoy your lives in San Francisco!

Gavin yells “I DO!”I love the dyed undergarment!Insert crazy uncle here!Make my day and leave a comment!

angela - I love it. Beautiful

Matt - I’m shooting my cousin’s wedding. I was wondering what is your lighting? flashes? soft boxes?

Matt - Also what camera/lens did you use?

admin - Hi Matthew! For this wedding (and most) I use lights (either flashes or white lightning strobes) with pocket wizards in the corners and I also use a Nikon sb800 flash for dancing shots. My main camera is a Nikon D3 and I use mainly my Nikkor 24-70 2.8 and Nikkor 70-200 2.8 lenses for weddings but I also have a 14-24 2.8, 105 macro 2.8, and a 50mm 1.4 that I use as well. I do have a 300 f4 that I use at certain weddings, but typically I leave it at home. Good luck with your cousin’s wedding. Let me know how it goes! rachel@baynephotography.com

Rob and Misty… Married July 2, 2011

Rob and Misty are on my list of favorite wedding clients… they are so in love and so easy to photograph. I even asked Misty if she modeled because she always seemed to know what I wanted her to do. Their romance was a bit of a long distance whirlwind… Misty, who was living in Whatcom County, was introduced to Rob over a year ago by a mutual friend while visiting Nashville where he was living. Along with Misty’s little girls, they now live in Pittsburgh where Rob is from. Speaking of Misty’s little girls… I couldn’t have asked for cuter or sweeter flower girls!  Their wedding party was so much fun as well… I love how the guys weren’t afraid to be dorks in their photos! Overall it was an amazing wedding with a lot of great friends and family who came from all over the country to see them. Enjoy your new life together…

Rob gave Misty’s daughters each a necklace during the ceremony…Cousins! I see this photo being recreated every year…The guys make an attempt at being cool in the next few photos…I love it when my couples are goofy during their photos…Poor Rob… his best man told all his secrets…The chicken dance…

Mike and Betsy… Married June 10, 2011

Mike and I go way back… back when Mark Wahlberg was Marky Mark and the New Kids on the Block were cool. I’m talking about Curtis Junior High in the early 90’s! Mike was dating one of my best friends, who went to a Marky Mark concert with me! Fast forward more years then I want to count, Mike announces on Facebook that he’s getting married to his then fiancée Betsy. I learn that Betsy works at Red Robin’s corporate head quarters in Denver, Colorado… which is my favorite restaurant! If you’ve eaten at Red Robin lately, Betsy has played some part in the food you ate.

Their Columbia Winery wedding was beautiful and the weather was fantastic! The food was some of the best I’ve had at a wedding. The next day I met Betsy and Mike at Owen Beach in Tacoma’s Point Defiance Park for a day after shoot with just them. It was nice to photograph a couple with the stress of the wedding day behind them… plus, the light was perfect!

Thank you for letting me be part of your day!

Ps. If you love beer, check out Mike’s homebrew page: Catfish Brewing Company.

Mike’s best man, John, also went to high school with us and collage at Washington State University with me. Go Cougs! One of Betsy and Mike’s guests give his best “Mike” face…Nothing to see here… Just a bunch of guys drinking martinis…We did personalized photo booth prints for their photo booth…
