  • Welcome to Rachel Bayne Photography…

I have loved photography since I was at least in the 3rd grade and got my first camera for my birthday that year. I took that little 210 film camera everywhere I went and have been capturing the world around me ever since. I love being a photographer. From weddings to families to senior portraits... it's all so much fun! If you have a question, click on the Contact button above. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do. -Rachel Bayne

Melanie and Mike: August 9, 2009

As soon as I heard that Melanie and Mike’s wedding colors were Seattle Seahawk’s blue and green, I knew this was going to be a great wedding. The cool thing about Melanie and Mike is that they were a referral from Corey and Nick’s wedding from last summer where I just had my photo booth, and they were a referral from Jessica and Scott whose wedding I did the summer before. I love referrals!

Melanie and Mike’s wedding party and families were so much fun to work with! And I loved how the blue and green were incorporated into everything from the cupcakes (from Katie’s Cupcakes) to the flowers to Mike’s blue converse and Melanie’s blue heels!

Melanie’s mom and sister watch as Mike and Melanie see each other for the first time…Melanie used rocks, a glue gun and fancy paperclips for seating card holders…Melanie and her bridesmaids watch from Lairmont’s second floor bridal suite as guests arrive…I always love the coming back down the aisle moments…This kid kept making funny faces at Melanie and Mike through the plastic window of the reception tent…Melanie’s sister gives her toast…Mike’s dad, Mike Sr., spoke the least but said the most as he congratulated Mike on his marriage to Melanie…Katie’s Cupcakes…You gotta love the look on Mike’s face as he takes the garter off…

Ariel and Jake: July 30, 2009

So as some of you know, I go to Red Robin all the time. I have been doing so since I was in junior high and now I go there to work on my laptop to edit photos just like some people go to coffee shops with their laptops. Its sort of my office. In doing so I have met a lot of great people. Two of those people are Ariel and Jake. Jake is a cook at the Bellingham Red Robin while Ariel just transferred down to the Skagit Red Robin to be a manager. They had an adorable baby boy, Collin, last July… and completed the circle by getting married at Lairmont Manor on a VERY hot Thursday evening. I love Lairmont and have done several weddings there this summer. By the way… grooms, check out the cake photo below for what NOT to do!!!

Collin, right, and his buddy Jeremy hang out while their moms get ready for the wedding.Ariel and Jake smile at each other as Jake realizes that Ariel surprised him with a new ring.Delicious cake by Trevor Drumm of Drumm’s Crumbs.Collin was able to strip down to just his tie on the day after the hottest day ever in Bellingham. So grooms to be… this is what not to do during the cake cutting! It was by far one of the funniest moments of the day but your bride might not be too happy with your afterward!

Lindsey and Chad: July 25, 2009

Much to Chad’s chagrin, the wedding day weather was hot! I think it topped out around 85 degrees and the humidity was over 90%. The wedding was held outside the house that Lindsey grew up in and was catered by the delicious Act 3 Catering in Tukwilla. Normally its just the bride who doesn’t want her groom to see her dress… but Chad also didn’t want Lindsey to see him in his suit before walking down the aisle! Chad’s sense of humor and Lindey’s calm demeanor made them a job to work with. And despite the sweltering heat, the entire day was perfect.

Lindsey’s mom and a bridesmaid help button up her beautiful Maggie Soterro wedding dress.Lindsey attemps to keep cool on an 85 degree, near 100% humidty day. There was no shortage of laughter between the members of the bridal party…Chad uses a little battery powered fan to keep him and his groomsmen cool…Mack… Lindsey’s family dog enjoys the ceremony…Lindsey’s  brother Stuart tries to keep Mack entertained during the ceremony…This little girl was so cute and shy… but later in the night she danced with all the big girls…Chad’s brother Mike change out of his suit as soon as he could… at least his kept on his bow tie!Is that a tear or sweat Chad is wiping away as Lindsey’s maid of honor tells the story of how the couple met.“Don’t even think about it” is probably what Lindsey was telling Chad as he threatened to get her with a piece of cake…Chad cuts the first dance short thanks to the heat and humidity…The thrill of victory… and agony of defeat after the bouquet toss…

Meggan and Brian: July 18, 2009

Meggan and Brian were married at the quaint Hope Island Inn on the Swinomish Indian Reservation near La Conner, Washington. I had never been there before and was pleasantly surprised with how gorgeous the location was and how amazing the food was which was made in house. Meggan and Brian were just as beautiful and fun to work with. Thanks for a lovely Saturday afternoon!

How cute is their son Duke?Meggan and her mom get ready…Meggan’s beautiful dress was made by her step-mom from a picture in a magazine and without a pattern!Meggan and Brian gave their guest a bottle of chocolate merlot with a personalized layer which they bottled themselves.

Jamie and Scott: July 17, 2009

I have seriously lucked out with some amazing couples this year…. and Jamie and Scott are no exception. When we did their engagement session I knew that their wedding was going to be a fun time! Their bridal party was so much fun and so where their families. The ceremony and reception were held at Lairmont Manor in Fairhaven, Washington, which is so beautiful. Jamie got her dress at the famous Kleinfeld’s in New York City and was even helped by Randy, who you can see on Kleinfeld’s television show “Say Yes to the Dress” on TLC!

I love it when I have dapper grooms that really care what they are wearing. Here Scott shows off his super cool Kenneth Cole shoes.Jamie’s bridesmaids were so much fun!I’m not sure we knew why the ring bearer was holding his arm up, but Scott decided to do it too!Their flower girl took her time walking down the aisle… and as she walked, she would take one petal at a time and rub it on her face, then drop it. The guests loved it!Scott sewed the cute little lovebird cake topper himself! I love the peacock feather in the boutonniere. Jamie’s ring in a birds nest of robins egg candy. And J. Russell’s delicious (so I heard) fruit mojitos. Jamie tries to hold it together while her dad gives a toast.Jamie’s grandma reminded me several times that we had to get a big family photo!Jamie dances with her dad as her mom looks on.Scott and Jamie were surprised by Jamie’s dad with this amazing car for their getaway!
