  • Welcome to Rachel Bayne Photography…

I have loved photography since I was at least in the 3rd grade and got my first camera for my birthday that year. I took that little 210 film camera everywhere I went and have been capturing the world around me ever since. I love being a photographer. From weddings to families to senior portraits... it's all so much fun! If you have a question, click on the Contact button above. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do. -Rachel Bayne

Jill and Joel: September 12, 2009

I think Jill and Joel had one of the best dance parties I’ve seen this summer… complete with wedding crashes, a wedding singer, and of course, my photo booth! Jill did her own flowers and all the plates, utensils, and cups were made out of 100% compostable materials. This was definitely a fun night with a fun couple!

As Joel would say “wedding attire sponsored by Tommy Bahama.”

Heather and Dave: August 29, 2009

Heather and Dave got married at Evergreen Gardens, one of my favorite wedding venues in Whatcom County. Heather did an amazing job picking out fun colors, green and brown, and incorporating it throughout the venue. She also has one of the most loving families I’ve ever met. Did I mention that the BBQ was amazing? It was some of the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding! It was a beautiful wedding… Thanks to Heather, Dave and their wedding party for a fun day!

Borin and Nicole: Engagement Session

I met Borin and Nicole at Owen Beach and Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington for their engagement session. Nicole contacted me after seeing my ad in Seattle Metropolitan’s Bride and Groom Magazine… and hired me after we met! Engagement sessions are always a good time for the couple and I to get to know each other… and it also lets the bride and groom get used to having their photo taken. Borin and Nicole were a lot of fun to talk and work with and it was great going to Point Defiance Park in my home town of Tacoma!

Melanie and Mike: August 9, 2009

As soon as I heard that Melanie and Mike’s wedding colors were Seattle Seahawk’s blue and green, I knew this was going to be a great wedding. The cool thing about Melanie and Mike is that they were a referral from Corey and Nick’s wedding from last summer where I just had my photo booth, and they were a referral from Jessica and Scott whose wedding I did the summer before. I love referrals!

Melanie and Mike’s wedding party and families were so much fun to work with! And I loved how the blue and green were incorporated into everything from the cupcakes (from Katie’s Cupcakes) to the flowers to Mike’s blue converse and Melanie’s blue heels!

Melanie’s mom and sister watch as Mike and Melanie see each other for the first time…Melanie used rocks, a glue gun and fancy paperclips for seating card holders…Melanie and her bridesmaids watch from Lairmont’s second floor bridal suite as guests arrive…I always love the coming back down the aisle moments…This kid kept making funny faces at Melanie and Mike through the plastic window of the reception tent…Melanie’s sister gives her toast…Mike’s dad, Mike Sr., spoke the least but said the most as he congratulated Mike on his marriage to Melanie…Katie’s Cupcakes…You gotta love the look on Mike’s face as he takes the garter off…

Ariel and Jake: July 30, 2009

So as some of you know, I go to Red Robin all the time. I have been doing so since I was in junior high and now I go there to work on my laptop to edit photos just like some people go to coffee shops with their laptops. Its sort of my office. In doing so I have met a lot of great people. Two of those people are Ariel and Jake. Jake is a cook at the Bellingham Red Robin while Ariel just transferred down to the Skagit Red Robin to be a manager. They had an adorable baby boy, Collin, last July… and completed the circle by getting married at Lairmont Manor on a VERY hot Thursday evening. I love Lairmont and have done several weddings there this summer. By the way… grooms, check out the cake photo below for what NOT to do!!!

Collin, right, and his buddy Jeremy hang out while their moms get ready for the wedding.Ariel and Jake smile at each other as Jake realizes that Ariel surprised him with a new ring.Delicious cake by Trevor Drumm of Drumm’s Crumbs.Collin was able to strip down to just his tie on the day after the hottest day ever in Bellingham. So grooms to be… this is what not to do during the cake cutting! It was by far one of the funniest moments of the day but your bride might not be too happy with your afterward!
